Many of my images become memories of adventures and moments of time [life] that I reflect upon both personally and professionally. These images help preserve the stories that in many ways are just as compelling as what was captured in camera. This blog is a place to share these thoughts, experiences, stories, as well as knowledge about photography and other subject matter. Below are the images and stories that deserve more than a caption credit—they are the start of peoples’ lives, the joining of others, and the great fortune of having a camera nearby to share these moments.

Tyler and Nicole meet Matanuska Glacier. Matanuska Glacier, meet Tyler and Nicole.
Several months before their wedding, Tyler, Nicole, and I started planning their on-location wedding photos over coffee at Kaladi Bros. After two minutes of sitting down with them, I knew that they were a photographer's dream couple to photograph. Organized...check. Outgoing...check. Adventurous...check. Gorgeous...check. Wants wedding photos on Matanuska Glacier...che...wait a minute.

Did I hear that correctly? Photos on the glacier? Were they serious? That's one giant C-H-E-C-K!

Some of the best cinematic quotes of my generation have come from the former Governor of California—the Austrian Oak himself—Arnold Schwarzenegger. "Come with me if you want to live." "I'll be back." "It's not a tumor!" Even in his 1977 documentary, Pumping Iron, he commanded a line with a certain panache that asserted himself as the chiseled actor that every little kid wanted to see on the big screen. "Milk is for babies. When you grow up you have to drink beer." But it is the movie Predator where Arnold furiously yelled, "Get to da choppa!" that I recalled when the helicopter from Tanalian Aviation touched down to greet me at the Knik River Lodge.
